
Rock It Out Volunteers!
Mike is a boxing volunteer at Rock It Out, assisting our boxers during workouts and group exercises. Mike works hard and has a great attitude, setting a wonderful example for our boxers when working with them.
Robin is a volunteer coach at Rock It Out. Her enthusiasm and positive energy creates a motivating environment for our team!
Linda graduated from the Fairview Hospital School of Nursing and retired as a nurse from the Cleveland Clinic in July '23 after 44 years. Her childhood friend who started going to Rock It Out after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s inspired her to volunteer. Linda helps assist the boxers during class and finds it enjoyable and rewarding!
Gina is a PT with over 40 years of experience, beginning her
career in rehab and sports medicine at MetroHealth Medical Center. She also
specialized in pediatrics at the Lakewood City Schools and served as the Director of
Golf Fitness at The Turn, focusing on adapted exercise and wellness. She began
volunteering at Rock It Out in 2024.
Jack is our newest volunteer coach! He is a current SPT and Cleveland Clinic therapy aide who works to create adaptive exercises that are not only challenging, but also fun.
What we are looking for:
Rock It Out Inc is a non-profit (formerly known as Rock Steady Boxing Cleveland) dedicated to helping those with Parkinson's Disease combat their symptoms. We are in need of volunteer coaches and people interested in helping with fundraising, communications, etc. Our coaches are energetic, attentive, and committed to helping our boxers throughout their weekly classes and into their daily lives.
If you or someone you know has experience in leading fitness classes or is interested in assisting our boxers throughout our classes, we would love to speak with you. We offer different levels of classes for our boxers over ~15 classes throughout the week. Assistance with set-up/ tear down, cleaning, leading & instructing, and assisting are all welcome. Our boxers are highly motivated by our coaches and their inspiring attitudes to help them get through their workouts and work on diminishing the presence of their symptoms to live a more empowering lifestyle.
